Goodbye Last Days. Hello New Day!

This Sermon by Levi Crawford of Fountain of Faith Church highlights the power of Jesus words spoken in Matthew 24.

This was a very important message which was given directly to His disciples. This was Jesus audience, not us 2000 years later!

Notice how powerfully this is pointed out in this Sermon.

Why Jehovah’s Witnesses are in Error

There are 3 Major reasons why Jehovah’s witnesses are in error.

1. They are in error about who God is.
a. They do not believe what Jesus said: “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30)
i. They believe Jehovah is Deity and the son is a created being
b. They believe Jesus was an angel who came to earth and was an angel when he returned to heaven (Michael the Archangel)
i. This is contrary to the entire first chapter of Hebrews
c. They do not believe that The Holy Spirit is a Person but a force like electricity
i. This is contrary to John 16:5-15 which speaks of Him as “HE”
d. They claim the name Jehovah’s Witnesses in Isaiah 43:10, but refuse to believe that He is one with Jesus. “I – I am Jehovah, besides me there is no savior.” They do not believe Jesus was the Savior?? Hmm, He must be the same as Jehovah!

2. They are in error about who Jesus is. They believe Jesus was just a man.
a. “I am the Way the Truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6)
b. “I am the door of the sheep” (John 10:7)
c. “I am the good shepherd” (John 10:11,14)
d. “I am the bread of life” (John 6:35)
e. “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12)
f. “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was “I AM!”
g. I AM, I AM, I AM, I AM! How many times does He have to say it! Jesus is God!

3. They are in error about the source of truth and light
a. They believe that all truth and light is dispensed from “Jehovah’s Organization” i.e. The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society
i. The Bible says:
1. “Your Word is truth” (John 17:17)
2. “Your Word is a Lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Ps 119:105)
3. “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12)
4. “The word of God is sharper than a two edged sword…piercing to the division of soul and spirit…” (Hebrews 4:12)

If you are one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, please consider these passages carefully. Jesus loves you! He wants you to come to him. You do not need an organization to approach him.

John 8:12 tells us: Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Jesus can be your savior too, but only if you put your trust in Him and not in an organization.

The Israel of God – Part 1

This Series contributed by Jim Mates (an Ordained Minister from Rochester New York)

“The Israel of God”-Introduction

Our title is taken from the pen of Paul in Gal 6:15&16. These verses read: “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.” (NKJV) Therefore, “the Israel of God”, in conjunction with the covenants that God has made with her, will be the foundation upon which this study is built. This is because an understanding of God’s dealings with Israel is paramount in gaining a proper perspective of His plan for the ages.

Many books have been written on the subject of eschatology (the study of future things).
So, why this study? Continue reading The Israel of God – Part 1

Is it Easter or Resurrection Sunday?

Is Easter A Christian Holiday?

I always cringe when I hear the term “Easter Sunday.” Why? Because there is nothing Christian about the term “Easter!”

According to Wikipedia: “The modern English term Easter, cognate with modern German Ostern, developed from the Old English word Ēastre or Ēostre.[nb 2] This is generally held to have originally referred to the name of an Anglo-Saxon goddess, Ēostre, a form of the widely attested Indo-European dawn goddess.[nb 3]”

David Curtis, Pastor of Berean Bible Church puts it this way:

“Is there something special about the date? Prior to A.D. 325, Easter was variously celebrated on different days of the week, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In that year, the Council of Nicaea was convened by emperor Constantine. It issued the Easter Rule which states that Easter shall be celebrated on the first Sunday that occurs after the first full moon on or after the vernal equinox. The ecclesiastical “vernal equinox” is always on March 21. Therefore, Easter must be celebrated on a Sunday between the dates of March 22 and April 25. Constantine took all of the pagan holidays and made them Christian holidays.

Does the rabbit have some spiritual significance? The Easter Bunny is not a modern invention. The symbol originated with the pagan festival of Eastre. The goddess, Eastre, was worshiped by the Anglo-Saxons through her earthly symbol, the rabbit.

So How much of Easter is Christian? None of it!”

The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

But what is special about the day that many wrongly label “Easter Sunday?” It is a very special day which has nothing to do with bunny rabbits, colored eggs, or easter egg hunts. It should be called “Resurrection Sunday” because it was on this day that our Lord Jesus was raised from the dead! Yes! Its all about the Resurrection!

Here is what is of significance on this day! The Bible account tells us in Matt. 28:1-8:

“Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.” So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.”

Yes! Jesus proved He was who He said He was by His resurrection from the grave. He is Risen! This is our song and our joy today!

And the benefit is that we who believe in Him will never die! Even as Jesus himself stated:

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
Joh 11:26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

This should be our question today. Do we have enough faith to believe? For it is only by putting our trust in Him that we will receive this blessed gift!

Why Jehovah’s Witnesses?

Why discuss Jehovah’s Witnesses?

Because I was raised as a member of this organization, and still have family members in it, I am particularly concerned about them. As I stated in my testimony, many years ago, we parted company for several reasons. It was not only because of doctrinal errors, but because of deliberate attempts by the Watchtower Society to distort quotations of others in an attempt to add credibility to their doctrine. For further proof of this, see my testimony.

There is no doctrinal statement of the beliefs of Jehovah’s Witnesses published in any of their publications or on their website. Therefore, all information must be extracted from various Watchtower publications or piece by piece from what is available on the official website of the Watchtower Society at http://www.JW.org. Jehovah’s Witnesses do not believe in the doctrine of the Trinity, nor do they believe in the deity of Christ.

What is Eschatology?

From Wikipedia we see that the word eschatology originates from the Greek ἔσχατος/ἐσχάτη/ἔσχατον, eschatos/eschatē/eschaton meaning “last” and -logy meaning “the study of”. Therefore, it means study of last things. In reference to Biblical events, generally speaking it relates to the “end of the age.” The phrase “last days” occurs between 4 and 7 times (depending on your translation) in the New Testament. For example, using the Contemporary English Version we see 7 incidences of this phrase. They are as follows:

A new Reformation? Maybe it’s Time!

Jesus said: “Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me?” John 8:46
Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees here, but we need to ask ourselves, “Do we believe Him?” Are we willing to believe His prophecies came about as He said they would, or do we try to put words in his mouth to make them fit our theology? Perhaps its time we, who have put our faith in Him, actually believe what He said would happen actually happened!

On his website: http://www.prophecyrefi.org, John Noe has posted something called “The 9.5 Theses for the next Reformation.”

Perhaps something like this is needed. John Noe gives us much to think about here. Check it out at:

The Blood Moons – Do I need to be worried?

Now that the first in a series of 4 Blood Moons has happened, as promulgated by famous prophecy pundit John Hagee, many are worried. He is the founder and Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio. But is Hagee telling us the truth about these blood moons? Is this really something to be worried about? Are all the claims made by Hagee concerning this factual? I found this message that was given recently by Pastor David Curtis at the Berean Bible Church in Virginia Beach to be very revealing. Click on the link below to listen.
